Divorce is something no one ever plans on. It’s the thing no one wants, until they want it and even then most hope they don’t have to really go through with it.

One of the reasons I see for divorces in my circle is growth. Growth is a good thing. I inspire and support people growing every day. And often that growth leads to outgrowing a relationship that you thought would never end.

With the end of a relationship comes a new money situation. For some it means taking control of finances when they haven’t ever done it before. It might mean feeling like you have to stand on your own without a safety net. It might mean more income or less income.

A few things I see come up in the divorce and money realm are:

  • Reverting back to old money stories like survival or just enough
  • Not seeing your value and owning what is fair in the division of assets
  • Wanting so bad to get away from what feels suffocating that you are willing to give up almost everything

I’ve had countless conversations with women ten years after their divorce who have told me they wished they had fought for half the rental houses instead of just walking away or that they wish they had asked for what they really wanted and deserved.

During this episode Sharon Pope, Love Coach and Best-Selling author, Michele Reynolds, Thriving Mompreneur and soon to be divorced mom, and I, Cassie Parks, Money Mindset Expert aim to give you some tools, inspiration and reassurance to for navigating divorce and money.
